TO PRACTISE LIFE
No matter how much we feel or how much we know, whatever our
potential and abilities are, we can only achieve these with practise.
Most of us understand what the terms of devoting oneself, courage
and love are But we can only know what they are when we practise these.
Performing brings understanding. Practising transforms knowledge
into wisdom.
Dreams and goodwill are not enough to live in this world, going
into action is needed. Just like as the saying of Tagore that is ‘’ You can
not pass over the ocean by looking at the water.’’
It is
an old story. Once upon a time, a young man who is a member of a high society
living in India, was passing most of his time by reading. One day, while he
was boating in the river, during a travel along the river, by being proud of
himself, he was telling the captain how much he knows.
The captain listening with interest suddenly,
by interrupting the young man who is praising himself all the time, asked him
whether he knows how to swim or not. "No" said the young man, "I do not know",
Upon this , he said "I am afraid you have learnt all you know is in vain
because the boat is sinking."
You are wondering about the cont, aren’t you?
That guy prouding about his knowledge has been drown. In my opinion, it is
better for you not to forget this story. This world is an energy and
activity world. No matter what you know, no matter who you are, no matter how
many books you read, no matter what kind of abilities you have, you can put
all these in life only by practising. No matter how supreme the philosophies
are, no matter how effective and big the words are worths nothing. It is easy
to talk about ideals, courage and love. But to do is to understand. Practising
is necessary for conscious and wisdom.
Most of the people, climbing the top of a
high hill, want to watch the plain, sea or the forest spreading below...
When asked, most of the people enjoys
watching this view. But only very few people can do this. The ones who can
watch that beautiful view could have watched only because they have climbed,
not because they have deserved or they are smarter, they are more powerful.
The one who takes the risk of climbing, lives the delight of the peak.
To go into action is not so easy in this
world; doubt and laziness are everywhere. Even our mind and body are lazy.
To practise the thoughts and the ideas requires energy, self sacrifice,
courage and heart. Because to go into action is to take a risk. We have
numerous excuses to postpone our lives. We sit in a chair of goodwill and we
are waiting for the others to do some things. Rule of activity repeats the
same message after and after: To do your best is better than not doing
anything and producing an excuse.
EVEN BY GETTING UP IN THE MORNING FROM YOUR
BED, MIXING WITH THE CROWD TO FIND YOUR BREAD REQUIRES COURAGE. EVERYONE
PRACTISES RULE OF ACTIVITY IN A WAY, DOESN’T IT?
Each living being moves but most of the
people only reacts. Besides, they show their reactions when they feel pain and
fair, when their relations turn into a field of a battle, when their body
becomes ill because of stress. Rule of Action teaches us to overcome our
lazieness and impatience towards a courage, a clear goal, determination.
HOW CAN A PERSON OVERCOME HIS LAZINESS, DO
YOU KNOW?
By accepting the three basic realities:
1-That we are human and we exist in this
world physically,
2-Nobody can live for us, we can only get
strong with our own efforts,
3- That acting will bring also some
difficulties, and in spite of these, showing that we are decisive to go into
action!.
At that
time, we give up the luxury of waiting for the moment that we are safe,
trustworthy, excited and motivated. We do not allow fears and doubts put up a
wall in our front. We do not wait for the ones to approve that we are doing
right.
The time for acting in accordance with our
utmost ideals in spite of our fears, doubts and hesitations has come. Because
of this urgency, now and here , I need to tell again. We have to
face the fears out with courage. Each day, we have to be brave. Because each
day we face with fears. These fears are not big like meeting with a bank thief
or saving a person from a building that have been bombed. But, each day, we
are face to face with the fears like expressing, getting rid of our habits or
taking the risk of being different.
Most of
the time, we wacth on tvs or read at the newspapers. The people injured at
traffic accidents are taken out of the cars, send to the hospitals lifted up
roughly into the taxis. But accident and hospital reports say that these
woundeds have loss of blood inside, they shouldn’t be moved or for example by
laying face down or wearing a neck protector they have to be carried. The
statics show that we come across dead events or permanent injury in these
patients.
Our effort to
help is an appreciable effort but generally reckless and unconscious.
YOU ARE SURPRISED, EVEN YOU THINK I AM
TALKING NONSENSE, DON’T YOU?
It may seem that those people need too much
help. Nevertheless, be aware that each rule carries seed of its opposite.
Sometimes compassion requires the action. But this rule at the same time
teaches the depth of inactiveness and being calm. I mean action of
inactiveness. Just like a meditation. There is the time of motion and pose.
Sometimes, you can show utmost patience, courage and maturity without doing
anything. In spite of your desire and urge to do some things.
I THINK THAT A QUESTION ‘’ HOW CAN A SOMEONE
KNOW THAT WHEN HE HAS TO ACT OR WHEN HE SHOULDN’T DO ANYTHING’’ IS WAITING
FOR AN ANSWER ?
The
people who are vulnerable for laziness and fears has to focus on courage and
determination,
The
people who talk and behave reactively has to stop, take a deep breath,
shouldn’t give opportunity for their feelings and urges to take control of
themselves.
In each case, listen to your wise voice of
your heart: you will hear when you should act, when you should be calm.
Remember
the fire in the oven, stove. You realize that the fire transforms the stuff
into energy. And this reminds us everything is temporary and undergoes
change.
At the end, each of us, disappear in the
flameless fire of the life. Be brave, since you still have time, you still
have a body.
