TO ASK A QUESTION...

They have asked a great scientist about what the major factors are for his brought up. Scientist said, "My mother" . My mother everyday after I have come back from school, said; "Have you asked any good question today?".  The most important factor that have brought me up is this. To ask a question is a function of mentality. If you stop asking questions, do not permit to ask questions, in that occasion, the mentality can not gain function, personality can not improve.

A culture that has no question, that has always a reply is an underdeveloped culture.

Children ask too many questions. Beginning with 3-4 years old, they ask till one gets bored. To discover the world, to realize what is happening, is the target of their fresh senses. 

Their attention becoming rich with their senses creates their memory, then they search for fundamental reasoning saying, " Why happened like that?, "Why is this so?". If you do not reply them, do not investigate, if you stop them, then for a while they really stop and learn that keeping quiet is comfortable. You become comfortable, mentality of the child learns to be blocked.

Asking a question is not a simple mental process. To ask a question;

1)     1- Courage

2)     2- Curiosity

3)     3- Consistence

4)     4- Strength that can breast the result is needed.

If you do not have all these, if you can not ask questions, the thing you do is to listen to the answers. What are we curious about, what do we ask? There is an anecdote about the period that the computers were newly found. The representatives of all nations ask question to the computers.Computers reply the question after the short and busy process. When our representative’s turn comes, ask his question: " What’s up?" For a while there becomes some noises of some process but no reply, at last shows failure flag with electrical sparks and smokes. Really, what does it mean?. "What’s up" In fact, this is not a question, it is a filling speech. When we cross each other, most of the questions we ask to each other are cliche and meaningless. "What are you doing?" ( A meaningless question, the one who asks knows very well what the other is doing.) "How is it going?" (this question has not also got a clear target, has been asked ever so much, and the other gives right replies like "so so" by doing vague signs with his hand.

"How are your works going?"( which works, is not apparent, just asked so. The reply is also in the same shallowness. ) The questions we ask are generally personal or the product of curiosity for the private lives of the people. When crossed with someone, all the questions like "Where are you from?" "Who are you from?", "What do you do?" "Where do you live" " Are you married?" " Do you have a child?" "Do the children study hard?" are security investigations. With these questions, whether the other is reliable or not is being searched. The questions with the environment are curiosity questions of gossip class that are about what the people are doing and not doing, what he buys and does not buy, where do they have. Aren’t the questions asked to the children sign of the shallowness and not giving value to the children?    

-         - Do you love your mother or your father?

-         - Would you like to be our child?

-         - Would you like to give your sweater to me?

If the child is a little bit older, his school and lessons are asked. These question types do not really show "questioning an interest". Questions of curiosity about science, culture and art is seen in some of the people who are really interested in these items. But there are the replies that has to be transmitted of important part of these surroundings, there are not any questions.

When you put asking questions to your training, your training will have been started.

When you assimilate asking question into your culture, you will have entered into the the way of civilization.
